As I said earlier I find it a bit difficult to buy the story that a 29 foot boat that ill equipped is that far off shore.

Especially without a GPS... seems to me they would want to keep the shore in sight.

If they had enough experience to do proper DR, then I doubt the boat is that ill equipped.

It just doesn't add up for me.
