The boat that we're buying came with a Pur 80 watermaker that I doubt we will ever have much use for. I've heard a rumor that the seller of the boat may want to buy the watermaker back from us. If so, I'm thinking of asking for 50% of the price of a new one.
I could be wrong about letting it go. In all the winters that I spent in the Bahamas, and south of there, I never had a watermaker and never spent more than $30 over an entire winter buying water. But there was only one of me and I was very frugal with water. So now with two of us and with prices having gone up, maybe we would spend $100, maybe even $200, for a winter's worth of water in the Bahamas. That's still a lot of winters compared to the price of watermaker, or even half the price.
I'm just thinking out loud here and wondering if anyone has an interesting thought on the subject.
