It should be one that can handle 3 foot waves and strong currents. A reliable motor would be important there.
I've never stayed there but have driven by many times on the West Side Drive and watched closely. There is a LOT of motion on those moorings at times, and wind against current probably half the time sets up quite a chop. There are also big ships and lots of motor traffic passing on the Hudson so they would add to the rocking and rolling.
Maybe a nice location to visit but I wouldn't want to live there. There are a number of towns in Westchester and Long Island that have commuter train stops in walking distance from the docks. There's also Liberty Landing which gets high marks.
