I stayed there some years back. It wasn't really wild but I suppose if the wind was howling down the Hudson it could get so with the current running against it. It is rolly during the day with boat traffic but settles down at night. You do need a dingy that can go at least 5 kts to make headway against the currrent.

But it is a great location with easy subway access a block or so from the dinghy landing.
