After a complete refit with shiny new gadgets, etc, this radio turned out to be our favorite piece of gear. It is instantly intuitive and easy to set up and use. Friends struggle with the DSC functionality on their ICOM radios, but this one is as easy as using a phone. And even if you already have an AIS transponder, the SH built in AIS receiver allows you to call ships by simply selecting their name and pushing the call button. And it acts as another AIS display and data source as a backup to your main one.

Highly recommend - I can't imagine a better VHF radio made.
