We sold TD last week and she's now in the hands of a couple who are preparing to take off in a few months for their own adventure,,, But,,,, What do I do now? When we bought the house, we always had the boat to go to. Even though it was 3,000 miles away, every 4 months we'd pack up, fly to the boat and go cruising for a few months. The last time it was from Stuart Fl, down to Ft. Lauderdale, across to the Abacos and then up to Annapolis where we put her to bed and flew home. She was in Annapolis for almost a year and, if she didn't sell we were going to head back down to Florida and try the West Coast as we've never been there. I flew back to Annapolis in April, put her back in the water and when I had all systems running I flew home. The idea was to get her ready for either a test sail for prospective new owners or to have her ready to grab some food, hop on board and head on out. She's now sold and the cruise to the west coast of Florida is of course off.
It seems like we've always had the boat. Even when we wanted it sold we still had it and the ability to cruise was still there. It was the right decision to sell but what do I do now? The decision was made not to purchase any boat for a while.
We have a friend in Virginia with a Sense 50 who's heading up to RI in a couple of months and asked us to go with her. I think we will. There's always Italy. Never been there but always wanted to go, just didn't have the money (but we always had the boat.)
I just don't know what to do now as I'm retired and boatless. Maybe I'll just go work in the garage. Oh yeah, that's what I'm suppose to do, Work on the house.
