Jaunty is a taste over eight feet beam IIRC. I'd have to measure again.

Causes me to wonder, if you ship a boat, can you go along as a passenger on the same ship?

I believe you are correct. Remember Robert Perry's Far Harbour 39?
Fitting a 39'er into a shipping container was an outrageous compromise.
Bolgers boats all fit in containers.
