A friend and his wife who have a sister ship to ours, a Nor'Sea 27.
Some years back, he towed his boat to Florida, sailed over and spent a year in Seville Spain. Then sailed back to Panama, through the canal on to the South Pacific to New Caledonia. Going further west was a big problem, NOT just for them, but for a LOT of boats there. As the boat fits in a container, they dropped it on a flat-rack and shipped it to La Havre France, for $3,000.00. (compare the cost to Dockwise of any other boat!). They are now doing the canals through Paris and plan to exit in the Med then back to SaSeville.
