time you use the stove then you are risking a big problem. If the solenoid valve fails and develops a leak on it's own with the tank valve open, you've got gas in the bilge. If you forget to turn the stove off or not turn it off completely or a hose gets a crack in it or any fitting along the way gets loose and the solenoid valve fails you have gas in the bilge. It takes several minutes for a sensor to saturate and provide the alarm and quite a bit of gas can be delivered in that time. It's NOT instantaneous! IMHO, I would connect it to it's separate circuit and would never turn it off. If your system can't stand a 200 milliamp load then get a small solar panel to help. Over the years I've seen several boats go up in smoke due to propane explosions and it's not pretty. As I recall, most of those explosions had people on board at the time.
