According to the paperwork on the IP, it came from the factory with gel cell batteries and just had a new pair installed in 2011. OK, that all sounds good to me.

I have been emailing the broker this afternoon, wrapping up some loose ends with selling the old boat. In the last email he said the IP was delivered to his place with no issues other than it needed "new batteries". So, the new gel cells that were installed in 2011 were just replaced last week with?? I have some doubts now exactly what I have for batteries. They are Interstate, and are nice and shiny for sure. Looks like some further investigation is in order. I was looking on the Interstate battery website and can't really verify what their gel marine batteries look like.
