Lobsterboats take on some of the personality from their owners. Thinking of both the lobsterboat and it's owner, some are pretty dumpy and under maintained(sorry cap), and some are shiney new and clean as a whistle(think baseball cap on shaved head).
On Northhaven Island, the fleet seems somewhere in between the extremes, well maintained and seasoned. On a sunday morning before 6 am, I photographed 3 as the light broke over the trees to the east. Every boat tells me a story.
BLUE SUNOCO was first and floated in the liquid light you'll only see for a few minutes each dawn.
Then FAMILY TRADITION was just getting the flashes of dawn on the water.
Finally, EARLY BIRD took the full brunt of the dawn light, and the show was over.
