We were living aboard Drift Away, our 46' trawler, in Georgia. The insects there are intense, so I hung screens over the doorways to keep the bugs out. The cat and dogs had to be taught that it was OK to just push the screen aside to go outside.
We're renting a cabin in the Adirondacks while we build our little house. The black flies, deer flies, horse flies, and mosquitoes are ferocious here, so I bought a screen door to keep the bugs out. It lasted about ten minutes before one of our dogs was through it. After many attempts to train them that it is now NOT OK to go through screens, I finally gave up and cut dog doors in the screens.
