That seems pretty straight forward even though I have never, ever seen anyone use a downline for anything other than pulling the lifting strap down after stepping a mast.

The season ends here for many people this coming weekend. The owners who live out of town usually wrap things up on Labor Day due to kids back in school, Fall sports and so forth. Our club will not start hauling boats for about 3 weeks though although the requests to haul early seem to increase every year.
