and about 3,000 hours. I am very happy with it. The only service needed was a raw water pump rebuild and new injectors.
I installed it myself, in England and it went very smoothly after an almost problem. One of the great things that Beta can do for you is custom engine mount brackets. They give you a guide on how to measure. In my case the only engine bed mod was to drill and tap new engine mount bolt holes. The almost problem: I was working directly with the Beta factory, a 2 hour train ride from London where we were wintering. They did custom brackets for me and I went to the plant to inspect the engine before it was shipped and the brackets were made wrong. They promised that they would be right when shipped and they were.
The advantages for Beta to me: The custom mounted remote filers to my specifications - very important for a V drive installation where the engine is backwards from most straight installations. They also did a custom second alternator bracket and custom pulley ratio. The above mentioned custom brackets which saved mucho install time and cost.
The old engine came out on a Friday. Over the weekend the engine space was scrubbed and painted. The new engine was craned in on Monday, test started on Wednesday and we left the marina the next Monday. That included a trip to France via the Chunnel with friends on the weekend!
Parts are no problem worldwide. I have bought Kubota brand filters in Sweden and New Zealand although prices are much better in the U.S. Unlike a certain U.S. Kubota marinizer they do not hide the engine type and gouge for parts.
Without hesitation I would do Beta again.
Disclaimer: I don't work for Beta or get any compensation for my opinion. I am just a happy customer.
