Are you a Ham? Winlink is a terrific way to do email anywhere. It is not cheap to set up but once you have the equipment the service is free. Get your email anywhere in the world, even mid ocean. You can't browse the web with it but you can get weather and other info sent to you.

If you are not a ham you can do sailmail for $250/year. Same modem and software as winlink but uses marine SSB frequencies in place of the Ham bands.
