Apparently all that cranking you see isn't just for turning those winch drums - they're driving hydraulic motors keeping up the pressure in the system for controlling the foils (and whatever else is hydraulic). Those crew members seem to be a lot busier than in the old 12 meter days when most of them just seemed to be movable ballast.
Didn't think it would happen, but I'm enjoying the racing. Two very fast boats with two very capable crews. Maybe I should spring for helmets for my crew?
