We didn't know what to expect in Frenchboro (aka Long Island) on a summer Saturday night. I called to ask if we could reserve a mooring but was told just that any of the big white balls, with or without a label, were available to rent. We had a pleasant sail (well, mostly motor) from North Haven, checking out Burnt Coat Harbor in case we had to backtrack. Although several other boats were headed towards Lunt Harbor, there were a couple of moorings free. Paul spotted a blank white one closer to the pier so we rafted on it.
When we asked about paying, we were told it was not one of the rental moorings and we were welcome to it. No problem. We walked down into the village and picked up info on the hiking trails at the museum. Pics to come.
