Yeah, but not for all boats
Great! Going down wind in 30 knots with the main up, can lead to a jibe.

Agreed. I gave my boom a good strength test this season.
My Dutchman Boom Brake is one of my favorite pieces of gear...

The spinnaker pole holding out our genoa is my best downwind set up.
