The customer gets to choose both a) best service, and b) best price. Perhaps the brothers will move into another line of work - maybe washing cars, or emptying my trash cans on Wed morning. Poor service won't serve them well in either trade.
My last sail purchase, I was trading off my local guy (Farrar) and North in Portsmouth, RI. Both were working to the same specs. We went back and forth for a few days - I made it no secret they were competing. Prices from both settled in within $50 - chose the local loft for convenience. Also perhaps because he's a friend and a member of the same yacht club. I probably could have beat the price by ordering from Hong Kong, but then you cross your fingers and open the box...
