How big is the mizzen?

Compared to the rest of the plan? Maybe the full keel puts the LCR further aft? I have only tried mine a couple of times, about 33 knots wind and not much seaway, so maybe not much of a test. I could make it lie pretty close to the wind even with a double reefed mizzen. I've got the main mast way up forward, but it is fairly clean being an unstayed carbon tube. The mainsail and cover though are a fair amount of windage, distributed along the boom. My mizzen is only 215 sq ft now, but it is a full battened square head string sail, built very flat and flattens further with mast bend. When I was experimenting with it, it was quite easy to adjust the mizzen sheets and rudder angle to get a square drift lying at a choice of angles. Never had the opportunity to try it in big wind and seaway. I keep wondering if I should add a trysail to the inventory. It would be pretty far forward, might not be much different in effect than the 3rd reefed main.
