We had a bottom blister job done in Mission Bay by a company that did a great job with a new vinyl-ester bottom. The bottom paint turned from red to an avocado color while in the water for 3 months. A few months later the guy that cleans the bottom for me said the paint is wasted. Said he never saw anything like it.

In discussing it with the contractor who did the job he said that environmental regulations in Mission Bay was the cause. I took the boat to Baja Naval in Mexico and had it done again with Trinidad. Don't know if invironmental has changed in Mission Bay but in 2006 it was not the place to go to have the bottom done.
