just bounced off the reef and put a small scratch. I bottomed out in Bara. Twice in five minutes! I had to kedge off both times. The lagoon was, well, I wasn't going to dive on her to check the paint. Lets put it that way. When I finely got into some clean water I was surprised. Gee, the soft paint was indeed, soft. The bottom on the bar I hit was course sand and sanded the paint completely off. It was on a falling timed so I couldn't wait it out. I was using the Raines book and it indicated an anchorage over by the Sands Hotel. An anchorage for a cruising boat and an anchorage for a Panga is not quite the same thing! Thank you Pat. Like they say, two kinds of people go into the lagoon, Those that have run aground and those who will run aground. At least we didn't spend the night on our side like some of the folks we saw. One guy was so embarrassed that he never even came in. He floated in the morning and just sailed away! LMAO
