weather station

It was amazingly noisy all night long, I was up at 2:30am and my weather station said -11* with a windchill of -30*. I went out with a big floodlight and the noise was from the boards on my back deck. I guess they were freezing and cracking? The sky was very clear, stars were out yet our Dish Network went out three time within an hour. We definitely broke the all time low for this date of -3*.

I suspect it is going to be an ugly scene at our camp come early spring when we open up for the year. Temps in the mountains were close to -20*, although we "winterize" I have no idea what cold like that will do. I have a waterline heater that turns itself on at 36*, the place is also heated to 50* all winter. I'm wondering if that will be enough to keep the water lines throughout the camp from freezing? I figure I will also find out what I left on the boat, I know there is some paint and cleaning supplies I was using this past weekend when it was in the 40's......
