first in about 4 or 5. Often is 5 years between frosty mornings. In 2004, we had a foot of snow on Christmas Eve. First measurable snow in 105 years!!

So it hit's particularly hard when it gets REALLY cold. Uninsulated pipes are common. My house is optimized for staying cool. Space heater, no central heat. but then I don't need AC in the summer- breezes work just fine.

Bottom line- I know it's painful north of here, and I feel for the folks up there, but I DETEST cold,so I stay HERE-grin
