We spend a lot of time trying to keep salt OUT of the boat. It is very hygroscopic and almost impossible to dry anything that has gotten wet with it. Not to mention corrosive. I can't imagine wanting to actually shoot salt around inside or outside the boat - particularly with any pressure behind it.
It punched holes through aluminum foil. Granted, that is easy to do, but what about pitting soft surfaces, painted surfaces, fabrics, etc? How much impact force does it have?
