I've always done overnights at the north end along the beaches

() Either picking up a mooring or anchoring bohemian style in sand with a 10' or so depth. You can get attacked by bugs if there's no breeze so be ready with screens. If not up there I head down to Gloucester through the Blynman bridge or over to Rockport
