Tom,
I think you know of David Buckman. I finished his book "Bucking the Tide" recently. He has great descriptions of sailing along the coast of Maine. You'd be interested in the last section which deals with sailing from Portland to St. John's, NB. I actually knew nothing at all about the coast beyond Schoodic Point...and now have a little knowledge of it and a LOT of respect for it.
