Hey Charlie,
In a recent article in CW, I was a bit surprised to see that Steve D'Antonio endorsed aluminum anodes, as well...
I've always thought one of the most fortunate aspects of my mooring arrangement at my house, was the absence of other large boats plugged into shorepower nearby... After my neighbor across the lagoon acquired a 40' Sea Ray a few years ago, it seemed my zincs were disappearing more rapidly, and I always suspected that had something to do with some sort of leakage from his boat... One of the positive consequences of Hurricane Sandy, he finally decided to get rid of the thing (he rarely used it, anyway), after it was damaged a bit when the yard where it was stored on the hard at the time was flooded...
But even those rare times when I stop in a marina for a night or two, my grouper always goes over the side, marinas make me nervous in that regard... (grin)
best regards,
Jon
