question to those of you experienced in transiting the C&D Canal/DE Bay to Cape May NJ:

I'm planning a trip in August (in C42/Yanmar 56)- starting Annapolis/destination Cape May. Trying to sort out the tide/current tables to figure out optimum sail plan to make it from Bohemia River to Cape May in 1 day (or at least Breakwater Harbor DE). I initially prioritized utilizing the flood through the C&D- (for 8/1/14 I figured I'd be at Chesapeake City at 0930). I then ride the flood but unfortunately am dumped into a Delaware Bay Flood that lasts until 1530 (slack). Figuring average SOG 5-6knts in a flood I don't get to Harbor of Refuge until roughly 2100 which is not ideal.

Any advice from folks experienced in this leg?
