I, too, loved the old Sampson Cay Marina. In fact, that's where I was headed before I realized they were gone. I went to Compass instead but much preferred Sampson.
Is all change for the worse? I sometimes think so but I do try to maintain as much of a positive view as I can manage. I'd say Monty and Sara's Explorer charts have been a change for the better even if it does mean more crowded anchorages. A lot of folks who live here are better off than they were when I first came in the 80s. Maybe today's zillionnaires will, in time, discover the error of their ways. Think of all those Carnegie libraries in small towns across the US. That was one positive outcome of obscene wealth.
I do like the Palmettos. Maybe we'll stop there also. We have at least a week of good weather to carry us to Royal Island.
