I am pretty sure are caused by the proximity of the flat assed deadwood
After reading the advice here, and also a helpful Email form PYI (who we bought the Max-Prop form) I plan to let the prop hang 3" clear of the cutlass bearing.
If it creates problem we can always cut the shaft shorter.
