VHF is not like SSB. The SSB is a very high load and is sensitive to voltage sag. As long as your wire is heavy enough for the load - not difficult at 5 amp load you are fine. That is, just as long as you don't plug a heavy load into the cig lighter socket and transmit at the same time.
