Certainly coregs are ignored/abused by professional mariners as well as amaturs, when you use the tricolor and steaming light you are identifing your vessel as a vessel engaged in fishing or trawling depending on whether they are approaching from port or starboard. Happily if you are approached bow on their view will not match any coreg lighting scheme.
