Hello all,
...THIS happens ??? LOL...
Looks like I might be looking for a good hidey hole around Newport or the Vineyard come Friday or Saturday...
Smart thing, of course, would be to sit tight here in NJ, it doesn't make a great deal of sense to sail CLOSER to the predicted track of a tropical storm, after all... (grin) But I'm already way behind schedule, and there should be some good sailing for heading E both before and after the storm, so we shall see, I'll probably make the decision tonight... This morning's 0800 update has pushed the track slightly further SE of Cape Cod, so that's encouraging...
As always, my departure is complicated by just getting my boat out of Barnegat Bay... She is pretty down on her lines for this trip, and the water is high for the time being, but I'm concerned the water might get sucked out of here as the storm passes offshore, and the breeze backs around from the NE thru W... So, we shall see...
Those of you in southern New England, what are your plans at the moment for this weekend? Doug R, are you out there? Good luck to all down in NC, looks like you'll definitely feel the effects of this one...
best regards,
Jon
