Hey Chris,
My plan is to get out there as quickly as I can in the wake of the storm, looks like it should be good sailing for heading E most of next week...
Right now I'm in Menemsha Bight, but I certainly won't be here tonight (grin)... I'll probably be in Lake Tashmoo or Lagoon Pond for the passage of Arthur , as you know there are several good hidely-holes around here in a NE breeze. Left Manasquan Wed morning, had a spectacular sail almost to Montauk, where the wind quit and the fog rolled in... Damn, I hate motoring at night, in the fog... Finally burned off about 1000 yesterday, and the breeze came up just enough for a lazy spinnaker run from about 10 miles SE of Block I up into Vineyard Sound, another beautiful sail... I only saw ONE other boat out there under sail all day, looked like one of the Bermuda racers returning to Newport, I sure hope none of those guys are gonna be out there in the path of this one. But I'm afraid with the timing, and the fact this storm developed on relatively short notice, there could be - hopefully the weather routers were on top of this one from the start... This area is pretty deserted right now, I was the only boat anchored off Menemsha last night, which must be a first ever for the 3rd of July...
Good luck, keep us posted here of your whereabouts...
best regards,
Jon
