a very low cost non-contact temp sensor. Got mine from Harbor Freight and started using it for the engine to check temp every so often and keep somewhat of a running log. If I see the temp rising, I will take action.

After I started using it, as it is NO-CONTACT, Jill even started using it when cooking! We like duel use items.
