your point that backing down hard has no effect on oil senders. Backing down hard causes cavitation and cavitation causes vibration and vibration
causes the oil sender to whip around on it's "t". This is due to the weight of the sender and the lenght of all of the "nipples," "t's" and wires connected to it. I've had them not only get loose but break off as well. I would suggest the instalation be checked and the factory parts be installed. An off the shelf bronze nipple might be to soft to take the beating and break off. This will cause the engine to actually pump all of the oil out damageing the engine or at best, making a huge mess. Ask me how I know!
