put some oilsorb pads under the engine. An easy way to spot a problem early.

As was already said American pipe fittings and British ones are very close but not compatible. If it ran this long without a problem I would agree that is may have vibrated loose. Don't be afraid to tighten those fittings very tight. Brass can handle more torque than you would expect. Just don't shear it off .
