we did a short stint in rural Rhode Island. It had all the potential of being picturesque and in a few cases actually was. However, there were people that had obviously lived in the same place for generations who were referred to as "Swamp Yankees". They had every car, home appliance, tire, tractor, lawn mower and most of the cans and bottles the family every purchased for the last hundred or so years, piled on the property. Not our style and an absolute blight on the landscape and environment. Never did get an explanation why.
