Always interesting to get a bit more of the backstory on some of these incidents... A real shame, the Southern Cross has always struck me as a very sweet boat...

The timing of his trip south last year seemed odd, to say the least... Not many folks head from Maine to FL in the beginning of August, after all... (grin)

Then, being off Hatteras last Wednesday - definitely, the wrong place at the wrong time, no matter how stout your ride...

And, thanks again for your recommendation of that charger for my starting battery... That thing looks like it's gonna be PERFECT for me... I hate those damn magnetic switches, however - I don't know how many tries it took me to get it programmed correctly... (grin)
