Brian - Here's more info on how to trace the route
In Response To: Win 7 & Firefox... ()

A way to see this info, from any browser and any OS, is to visit http://www.monitis.com/traceroute/ then type in "cruising.sailboatowners.com" (without the quotes) for the server name. You might need to adjust the zoom level of the map, but this will show the route visually, along with a table that shows latency for each hop. Sometimes you'd be surprised at the route.

THE ABOVE ONLY PROVIDES THE ROUTE BETWEEN monitis.com and the server.

TO GET THE COMPLETE PICTURE, INCLUDING YOUR OWN LOCAL CONNECTION:

Using Windows 7: Go to a command prompt by clicking START then typing CMD (enter)(nl)Then you should see a black DOS box on screen

At the command line type "tracert cruising.sailboatowners.com" (enter) using the exact spelling and spacing, but without the quotes.

After a delay -- You will see the latency (in milliseconds) for each network hop between you and the web server. The slow responses with higher numbers identify the locations of the latency.
