`it was good to store oil (or any other petroleum based product such as oil paints) in a cold place. I've stored oil in my unheated garage for years, and it frequently gets below freezing in winter. I bought a case of Rotella at half-off and had it out there. Tonight I brought about 1.5 milk crates filled with oil containers down to my basement.

This also makes me wonder about my historical practice of changing the oil as part of Fall layup, and running that oil all during the summer seasons.
