I ask the marine mechanics down the hill what oil they use,

and do your #1; spin the engine for a few seconds. I assume this will pump some oil up into the gallery. But I wonder if that's enough time to move the oil? I further assume waiting a minute or so(pull a sailcover or something) will allow that,...assumed oil to flow around rings...
Probably a waste of time. But the guys down below know more about oil and our climates effect on it than I do. I have found my engine starts faster in cold weather with what they use(I can't remember the weight 
)
