Your report got me looking at the new LED lights

so I ordered one with a T6 bulb that uses a pair of 18650 batteries. All I can say is "incredible" how bright it is. It makes my 6v sealed-beam lantern look dim by comparison. The sealed beam is also bulky and heavy while the LED light is easily carried in a pocket or clipped on your belt. This is my new "ready high beam" light to keep in the cockpit to illuminate the sail or spot a buoy, etc.

It also features a slide focus that allows a very narrow long beam or spread beam for closer lighting. The narrow beam is a bit strange because it's square (like the LED source itself). The charger is junk, which I'm going to upgrade... It would have been better to order the light and charger separately.
