For your use pretty much any multi-meter will work. I have been using a couple of cheap meters for the last few years with acceptable results. If you want to spend more, then Fluke is OK, but I always preferred B&K Precision. The top of the lineis of course Keithley, but they are bench meters. Back when I was running a lab I had a B&K precision hand held for crude measurements, a top end Keithley for precise work and some HP stuff integrated into a couple of instruments.
