Congratulations!

It's a big step, but I'm sure you'll land on solid footing.
We spent 3 months aboard, and found that our expenses were less than they would have been at home - even with feeding an additional teenager. We too primarily anchored, so marina costs (when we incurred then) seemed high, but the conveniences and easy access to facilities were welcome. 'Fine dining' was also a rare thing, but we enjoyed it when we did it. Our facilities aboard don't really support gourmet cooking, but that doesn't mean we didn't eat well. We took advantage of opportunities to enjoy the bounty of the sea - stuff we caught ourselves or were given by local fishermen.
Caveat: make sure your ground tackle is up to the job, and have duplicate. Does wonders for your peace of mind..
