Micron 66 did a good job...
In Response To: As good as Micron 66? ()

...protecting our bottom from growth when we used it. We had issues keeping the paint on the bottom of the boat after the first year. It is a long story but after two re-coats peeled off (both applications by one of the premier bottom finishers in the business) I insisted that someone other than my wife and I were responsible for getting the situation resolved. The refinisher insisted that we use a different paint and suggested VC Offshore as something that would be suitable for our intended use. As this was "Warranty", I said ok... That paint worked fairly well but the slime had to be cleaned off fairly regularly.
Each year I would spot repair that sprayed and wet sanded bottom with most of my efforts going into the keel. It would shed big chunks of paint each season.

We never left the Micron 66 in the water over the winter as in those days we hauled and took the boat home. At the end of the season, the Micron 66 was always a little "fuzzy" looking. The growth would pressure wash easily enough though.

I would say that the Micron 66 was about as capable as the VC Offshore. The Hydracoat ECO has outperformed both paints.
It has earned a second season on Esmeralde!
