The jewels that are Maine’s granite islands are what makes Penobscot Bay such a great cruising area. These islands, when grouped just so, can make for some of the best harbors you could hope for; with protection from wind and waves from every direction , places to land and stretch your legs, and beautiful scenery. I have been cruising in the bay for over 15 years and have yet to run out of new places to try. One such place is the large lagoon formed between Dix, High and Little Green islands in the Muscle Ridge Channel area of West Penobscot Bay below Rockland.
