Test post since I lost my login ... we debated having dinghy chaps and ended up using 303 Aerospace Protectant religiously. Personally, I've slipped on too many friends chaps and wouldn't have them on our dinghy. We have enough trouble! Our original dinghy was a Caribe 8' roll up and we used it for several years. Replaced it in 2007 with a 9' aluminum RIB ordered from Marine Warehouse and delivered in Roatan. That dinghy is still going strong through Colombia, Panama and back to the US (except for the rat chews we had last year) and no problems with no chaps. Would it last longer with chaps? No idea.
