Currently signed up for PBS (free) and Acorn TV ($4.99/mo - British shows). Don't really know why I'd want to record - there are no commercials, you can watch any show offered whenever you want, and if you stop watching it takes you back to wherever you left off (or earlier or later). The key is to just subscribe to the channels you'll use. Our unit has an internet port, but is working fine on WiFi. If it starts to get twitchy, I'll run a cable direct to the router.
If you want to try Roku, let me know and I'll send you a new unopened Roku SE that we received as a present - I certainly don't need two units!
